Rumah Joglo : Javanese traditional house

Joglo is a traditional house of Javanese society. Consists of two main parts namely Pendapa and dalem. This part is the front Joglo pendapa which have a large room with no insulation, insulation, normally used to receive guests or a playroom where children and families to relax.
Part palace is part of a room in the house bedroom, living room and other rooms that are more privacy. The characteristics of the building is at roof Pendapanya towering like a mountain.

a. Pendopo
Pendopo is the building leading from the house that serves as a place joglo receive guests or place entered into the customary ceremonies. In general, the pendopo is open or not given the wall coverings. If using the cover, then the wall of the timber used is easy to open or gebyok. Philosophically, this illustrates the principle of openness adopted by the host.
b. Sentong
This section is principally used as a bed. But before parents married off their children, then the door will always sentong closed or locked. Sentong recently opened or used to sleep after his daughter's marriage. Sentong is divided into three, namely:
1) Sentong Tengen (Right) Tengen Sentong used as beds for boys who have been married.
2) Sentong kiwo (Left) Sentong is a bed for girls who have been married.
3) Central Sentong. Middle Sentong also called Petanen, Pasren, Pedaringan or Krobongan. Sentong is considered sacred and used for worship. Javanese society that the majority rely on agriculture, believes that Central is the place bersemayamnya Sentong ancestor spirits ie as the Goddess of Fertility Goddess Sri. Because it was considered sacred, so do not carelessly allowed to enter except those existing uses. People who signed sentong even this had to be careful and respect the character of the host in this case Dewi Sri. In this middle sentong placed magnolia bed complete with pillows or bolsters, mirror and comb. In addition, there are always lit oil lamp, both during the day or night.
c. Gandok
Gandok is a building located next to (pavilium). Usually attached to the rear of the building. Longitudinal direction of the home Gandok transversely at the rear. Serves as a storage page Gandok kitchenette, dining room and sometimes functioned as a kitchen.
d. Pringgitan
Pringgitan buildings that are usually located between the pavilion and the palace. The building is used for staging puppet / ringgit.
e. Kuncung.
Kuncung is a building located on the side or front of the pavilion that serves as a place to relax such as drinking tea or reading a newspaper.
f. Pawon.
Pawon is this part of a house joglo used as a place to cook.
